Job Description:
The Institute of Zoology at the University of Punjab is seeking a Research Associate to work on a project titled “Prospects of Induced Breeding of Catfish Species (Pangasius hypothalamus and Wallago attu) for a Sustainable Supply of Seed to the Fish Farming Community of Pakistan.” The project is funded by the Punjab Agricultural Research Board, Lahore.
Responsibilities:
The Research Associate will be responsible for conducting research on the induced breeding of catfish species. This will involve conducting experiments, collecting and analyzing data, and preparing reports. The Research Associate will also be responsible for assisting the Project Manager with other aspects of the project, such as writing grant proposals and managing the project budget.
Qualifications:
- Master of Philosophy in Fisheries & Aquaculture or Zoology, preferably with specialization in Fish Nutrition or Fish Breeding.
- Strong research skills, including experience in designing and conducting experiments, collecting and analyzing data, and writing scientific reports.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Salary and Benefits:
The Research Associate will be paid a salary of Rs. 75,000/- per month (with a 7% annual increase), as per PARB policy for the remaining project duration. The Research Associate will also be eligible for benefits such as health insurance and paid leave.
