How to Check Your Family Tree in NADRA (Step-by-Step Guide)

Pakistan’s government is taking steps to prevent the misuse of fake ID cards. They’ve launched a program called NADRA Family Tree Verification, led by the National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA). The goal is to ensure that people’s identity information is accurate and legitimate.

One of the steps they’re taking is to implement an SMS family verification system. This system allows citizens to check whether anyone who shouldn’t be on their family list is there. This innovative approach not only safeguards the integrity of the national ID system but also allows individuals to confirm the accuracy of their personal information.

Simple Ways to Verify Your NADRA Family Tree

You can either send a message or fill out an online form. Read this text to find out how it all works:

Verify Your NADRA Family Tree Through Message in 6 Easy Steps

Here’s what to do if you have a registered cell phone number:

  • Open your SMS app.
  • Type your 13-digit CNIC number without spaces in the text box.
  • Send it to 8009.
  • You will get details about your family members by text. If anything is not right, reply with ‘1’ to let NADRA know.
  • They’ll call you from their Islamabad helpline at 051-2778009.
  • If all the info is correct, reply with ‘2’ to tell NADRA.

To use the NADRA Family Tree service, you need to have your mobile phone number registered with NADRA under your CNIC or B form. If your number isn’t registered, or you have a new number, you can go to a NADRA center to update your records. But that might not be necessary, since most mobile SIM cards are already registered using biometric verification and ID cards.
